Abstract
|

|
We report a case of mucopolysaccharidosis which is confirmed by hematologic finding and it is suspected as a Hurler syndrome on the ground of clinical and radiological findings. Reilly bodies were seen in the polymorphonuclear leukocytes of bone marrow blood but the biochemical test of urine for determination of the dermatan sulfate and heparan sulfate was not performed.
With references we briefly review about the basic components and function of connective tissue, about the metabolism of glycosaminoglycan and about the etiological factors, clinical symptoms, radiological findings, diagnostic methods and the possible methods of treatment of mucopolysaccharidoses.
